The tale of the girl with the most beautiful eyes in the world (nope, I am not talking about Aishwarya)

She used to be one of the world's famous face, and yet no one knows her. Her photo has been captured randomly but created a stir when her picture was selected as the cover of National Geographic 100 best pictures. She had no idea her face had become an icon after her photo became the cover in 1985, although her info, remained anonymous.

17 years later, the National Geographic team, returned to the refugee place in Pakistan in pursuit for her. Several contacts had led them to her brother. The photographer, McCurry could easily tell that they had found the right family the moment he saw the color of her brother's eyes. To confirm that she is Sharbat Gula, the EXPLORER team verified her through iris-scanning technology and face-recognition techniques used by the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Since she was only photographed once in her lifetime, she remembered the moment vividly, and what interesting is, she only got to see the product 17 years later. McCurry told her that she has become famous because of the photo but she did not seem to be interested in her fame.

Sharbat Gula's photo had captivated so many people for one reason, undoubtedly, the piercing gaze of her sea-green eyes, as they put it.

And what a nice name she has-Sharbat Gula which means "Rose Sherbet" or Air Mawar kan? huhu pardon my rusty arabic...

On the other note, I personally fall for her eye color too, her face represents effortless beauty and strength. I admire the striking and intense color of her photo- brick red shawl with her aqua marine eyes!

 

I admit I am inspired so I tried to play with the contact lenses to get her color, but you just cannot beat the gene right? Mmmm....

Farhani Tarmizi

I think this lady gains popularity quicker than anybody else, after she bustled a heated controversial racist statement pertaining Sarawakian women. Her statement had hoisted anger amongst Sarawakian generally, hence the many hate pages of her had been created. Her screen capture (here) circulates around very rapidly and  I pity to other Hani Tarmizis out there, because the crowd have intensely tried to track down that name for the past few days. Whatever she thinks of doing right now, I guess she should have thought it before she came out with the words.

I will not sink down to her level to rant back or retaliate what she said because that will make I am worthless as she is but I suggest that she comes out form her hiding place, make a public apology and clear up the mess that she has done. You touched and you are burnt baby!

On the other note, Saiful Nang faced the same thing after he commented about 'press photographer tak pandai ambil gambar', and he doesn't need to become a man, he only need to become human by making a public apology.

Moral of the story is fikirlah sebelum cakap. Weapons break bones but words break hearts. Wounds will heal but not broken hearts.

Harus blog... This is the 1st time I watched AJL in Kch, after the past 2 years I have done it in beloved KK..  For the previous couple of years, both songs of my choice made it! Itu Kamu & Lagu Untukmu...

For this year, my choice is Kau Aku, Situasi, Bencinta and Aku Skandal..

Ok, Fine, aizat won big! He deserves it! yeah, but seriously, this year has the best line ups.. No one stands out because all of them are simply the best!

Below are my random trivias. Too excited to review.

• I love Hujan's arrangement.. very 50s.. ;)
  
• Kudos for Yuna, epitome of less is more
• Rozita Che Wan versi lelaki Faizal Tahir should be complimented for his effort walaupun bertongkat.

CURANG FANTASI ..WHAT IS??

Semalam di rancangan favourite saya Wanita Hari Ini, diorg discuss one very2 interesting issue. Isu yang barusan (barusan baaaaah!! hehe) julung2 kali saya dengar iaitu, CURANG FANTASI. Although I'm not in the position to comment anything sebab saya belum berkahwin but no harm to share right. Lagipun @25 24 takkan la saya ni innocent sgt? Amongst the panel were : Azhar Sulaiman, Lisdawati, AR Badul, Didie Alias, seorang doktor pakar dan seorg ustaz..

Definisi curang fantasi ialah apabila pasangan yang TELAH BERKAHWIN BERFANTASI TENTANG ORANG LAIN KETIKA BERSETUBUH BERSAMA PASANGANNYA. Tidak kiralah Jessica Alba ka, Megan Fox ka, Robbert Pattison ka, Hugh Jackman, Taylor Lautner ka, ataupun rakan seofis. Undoubtedly, kebanyakan yang menghadapi masalah ini ialah golongan LELAKI.. Around 35% of men mengalaminya. Tetapi ada juga wanita berfantasi dan lebih kronik berbanding lelaki. (But I want to ask women, u guys berfantasi ke? Cuz sumpah, I DON'T)

Case study- Antara pengalaman yang dikongsi oleh seorang anonymous in that show is about a lady who tries to survive an arranged marriage. Menurutnya sejak 2 tahun yang lalu, dia telah berfantasi tentang artis pujaannya setiap kali bersama suami. Katanya, dia mahu suaminya berbadan BERKETUL-KETUL (WTH!!) dan menasihatkan beliau ke gym, tetapi suami nya buat dek saja, SO, TO SAVE THEIR MARRIAGE, SHE FANTASIZES!

Kata doktor- Menurut doktor, perkara fantasi ini normal berlaku di barat kerana ada yang mempunyai daya seksual yang lemah sehinggakan mereka terpaksa berfantasi to trigger their desire, hence, reach the climax. Tapi, doktor kata, its is all about mind set, we control our mind, not the otherwise. But ada yang terlalu kronik, so doktor nasihat, bring along ur spouse's photo to curb the fantasy, kalau nak berfantasi, cepat2 tengok pic suami/isteri and lepaskan kat diorg.. faham?

kata Ustaz pulak- CURANG FANTASI adalah HARAM! ok? Tapi kalau datang secara MIMPI atau LINTASAN, then it's okay. Adapun curang fantasi ini diharuskan bila ia dpt mengelakkan perkara yang lebih mudharat berlaku seperti PENCERAIAN. Seboleh2nya dielakkan kerana fantasi ini MEMBUKA jalan ke arah maksiat apabila ia direalisasikan. Sebagai contoh, anda telah berkahwin tetapi meminati lelaki/wanita lain, dan apabila anda BERFANTASI tentang dia, tidak mustahil anda betul2 curang bersama LELAKI/WANITA itu.

The peak of the discussion is statement Azhar Sulaiman yang mengaku bahawa isterinyatidak menjaga penampilan. So what he does is, dia tampal gambar isterinya yang dulu2 untuk membangkitkan seleranya. Dan he admitted about MAYBE HE fantasizes MISHA OMAR! And according to him, bila berfantasi, kasih sayang yang ada untuk isteri ketika menyentuh dan menciumnya is NO MORE 100% Pergh, perempuan mesti sedih over his statement... T_T

Then the conclusion is, fantasi memang kadang2 datang tapi dengan iman dan amalan yang sufficient, insya allah, you can control them. DAN NASIHAT USTAZ itu, cermin diri sendiri dulu sebelum demand/expect too much from your spouse...and dia cakap lagi, Allah jaga rumah tangga yang apabila kedua2 pasangan fight for the relationship, bila salah seorangnya berpaling, Allah tak jaga dah..na'uzubillah...

I'm so sorry!!

Someone innocent had been affected by my words and now she is mad with me. I dare to swear that none of the words is about anyone. It is something I play with my friend, Ika and its an 'us' thing. Therefore, I would like to apologize for what I have said, this misunderstanding arises. I feel really bad that actually it makes me uneasy through all night. What makes me feel worse, she is really a nice person, when a nice person hates, gets mad at u, sure you feel shitty right?

I write this with a great sense of remorse and I sincerely mean it... :(

Happy Birthday to the most wonderful woman in my life

A kind note to my blog reader: PLEASE READ, dun just scroll for pics! Don't be lazy, cuz this is one of my not so many meaningful full-text entry.

Granpa named her after the character-Sabrina Duncan of the 1981 version of Charlie's angels. And like the character played, she is feisty, always full of spirit and plucky. She relives the angel's character-very brave and courageful.

She is the most amazing girl in our life. And that is not saying per se, she proves it so many times. She is very successful in her life. Her husband is very lucky to have her as a wife. Huge age gap between us has made her very possessive of me even up until now. I owe her so very much for what I am today because I used to be a timid girl, she taught me otherwise.I remember she handed down to me this particular blouse of hers and the moment I put it on, it perfectly fits, she said "You have grown up, soon you will have a boyfriend, but he must pass my screening first". (and in case you don't remember, it was your pink polka dot blouse). That was the sweetest thing she ever said to me albeit she was only 16 at that time.

Speaking of which, this lady has proven her sense of leadership and responsibility since she was just a little girl. Back in the good old days, when all the cousins lived under one roof -my grandma's house, she-being an alpha, created this sekolah olok-olok together with the other cousins. Of course, she was the headmaster teacher. But we made it so real, with real books, school bags, stationery. We even brought along our own lunch box. There were recess time and bells. She worked so hard to teach us, me especially, I got smacked and pinched if I couldn't answer her questions correctly. No one dared to do anything but to follow. I hate or more to say frighten of her during that time. But now, you have no idea how much thanks I would have indebted to her.

At the same time, she has a golden heart. She gives more than she gets. Everyone in the family adores her, Everywhere we go, relatives and family friend will ask about her. They enjoy her antics and companion so very much. Give her a rock, for sure she'll turned it into diamond. And because of that, her life has been so smooth, she walks side by side with "lucky"!

She was a very smart girl, SHE IS A SMART GIRL. Since I was little, I secretly imitated what ever she did, listened to, even what she puts on her face. She is the real pundit of make ups! I have always tried all of my life to become more like her but never mind to beat, I can't even simi-level her.

She has always been and always be the apple of our eyes. The cream of the crop. A perfect role model for me & Elyn. She will always be the pride and joy of my family, and it never crossed my mind to beat that.

For the person I look up the most, me mentor, my idol and my sister, Happy Birthday to Puan Sabrina. Happy ushering the big 30 with wide arms. Worry not, you do not look like one. Not even close! I couldn't love you more every day! I pray you'll deliver your mini ASAP.

6 months/0.5 year

Oh my, it was yesterday!~ Happy 6 months sayang! I love you more each day..

Many 6 months to come? Bring it on! Cuz I'm helplessly devoted to you..

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAKAK!

One day then crush invited me to a dinner with his family, that was the 1st time we met after 3 years. I knew I would feel awkward among the strangers plus we HAVE NEVER BEEN FRIENDS before. But, honestly, during the dinner I did not feel outcast at all because of one thing-his sister is super duper nice!

Since then we became good friends. A year later, I resumed me study in KK, I was treated like a goddess! She is the ear to listen, and the shoulder to cry on. She helped me too much through out my study in KK and put my comfort and safety before hers. I still remember when I was ill, I woke up to an ever ready breakfast everytime. We shared a lot of things ( who's better for me to share stories about boyfriend kan? =) )

At this one black moment, deep in my heart, I know she too was helpless but tried her best to express her empathy so that I would not feel devastated. Although we are just only one year apart, I really respect her for her maturity and stability. Ever heard of how evil, nightmare a sister in law can be? FOR MY CASE, it's the opposite! I have an angel in disguise!

Because of her golden heart, her life is so blessed. She walks hand in hand with luck. She broke every men's heart when She is married and now expecting for a baby in 5 months time.  You are the exceptional friend, sister I have ever known. Happy 26th Birthday Nadhirah! I miss everything we have shared and gone through.

3rd day of two O ten

Woke up early today to visit my grandnannny (my grandma's sister) who had just undergone her pelvic surgery yesterday. Early here I mean 7:30 am. That means I only had 3 hours sleep last night T_T. Nenek is doing great and what's greater, she recognizes/remembers who I am. Usually she doesn't. he

 Gadis ini kurang 4 batang gigi  post weep?lack of sleep? you tell me.Going out for my vitamin D.

Before that, we went for early breakfast. Finally managed to catch up with laksa sarawak mak has been hunting for the last 3 days.. Yeay!

For personal note, the last few days set melancholic mood for me.. Nak quote lagu Hujan la...

How I take care of my skin

I should have blogged about this sooner due to demands. Skin care regime. Mine. I am one of the unluckys who is not blessed with flawless skin like most of you who prefer au naturel. I wear make up. And I do not have problem with that. I am confident that way, unlike some of you who prefer naked face, I envy you guys for that. I am born amongst all girl siblings, pardon me for being so feminine.   

But, personally I think I am certain! that make ups nowadays act more than beautifies per se, it protects your skin from the damage you can get outdoor. They are fortified with SPFs, moisturizer, hydratant. I may be a cheapskate but not with what I put on my face. Some of you will go " I prefer au naturel", lucky you! but my advice is please wear that foundation at least! Who says you can't be au natural that way? You are confident that way, then go for it. Forget blusher, forget eye shadow, lipstick, but foundation/or SPF pressed powder to protect your skin.

Pre and post make up, this is my regime:

• I cleanse, tone and moisturize my face. Never fail no matter how tired I am. Clean face curbs bacteria activities. Simple.
• Once in every 3 days, I will scrub my face, this is a more intense way to cleanse your precious. It goes deeper but do not do it too often you'll end up having very dry face.
• Make warm water your main drink. This enhance your skin from within, making it radiant and moisturized.
• I make sure my hands (nails) are clean every time before I touch my face. Thank God I have "surgeon syndrome". I have issues touching things with bare hands. You will never knew what have you touched through the day don't you? So, be extra careful with touching your face with you hand.
• I also take Evening primrose for supplement.
  

This is me sans make up. I am thankful, I am pimple,acne free, no large pore problem, no oily skin but suffer uneven skintone and nasty dark circle. I fix that with make ups. I can't do that? can?

PS: Love yourself. Only you know what's the best for you..Stick to what you are comfortable and confident with.

On different note.. I am not feeling well today, Mom has prepared all my favourite, grilled chicken and tom yam. She even bought me laici kang. I love u mak...

Our national hero, Dr. SMS is engaged to be married to Dr. Halina today. The wedding will take place on 101010, the same date he went to ISS. Did I tell you I create a capsul for that event? hehe..not the tunang, the space thing la. hehe .. Congrats to him...
