Candy Buffet and Engagement; Lagu Tema: Haven't Met You Yet by Michael Buble

On the 31st of Dec, I got a mandate from Purple Lady to become the MUA for her sister's engagement. I was so excited, because Purple Lady is here, haven't seen her since her wedding and that's been a while. And I am more than glad to lend a hand. I came over very early (altho the event was scheduled after Isyak, because I want to avoid traffic) and offer some help if they should need some.

For this event, PL had came up with something called Candy Buffet. No foreigner among the West Malaysians, but still very new in Sarawak. So, she considered this as a pilot test. And it turned out very2 successful. It is basically a buffet spread of candies, presented in the most beautiful manner.

 Strawberry Love Letter, Spinny Lollipop, Swirly Marshmellow, Polo o'Sugar, Toffee Truffles, Cloudy Ice Cream!Kudos to PL for such creative names!

The setup is Pretty to the max!

Now, comes my main duty. The Make Up Artist. Stepping back to my experience, I used to do make ups for my Uni friends for annual dinners and some functions here and there. And that too, had been a while. I was stunt when PL still has the slightest trust in me for this task.

I hold strong to Maya Karin's quote: Beauty comes from beautiful skin, so my task is a no-brainer. Senang nak make up orang yg dah sedia ada cantik and no skin problem. She demanded for a sweet yet outstanding up-do. I was relieved when my client is satisfied with the end product. "Good make up is when it is hardly there"

Congratulations to Eddie and Naffa, such a beautiful couple! :)

I get a lot of comments pertaining my braces, and I don't mean technically. Comments about my appearance and the braces itself. But nothing can beat what kids have to say about my braces. Their remarks are out of this world!

1. Kenapa gigi akak buruk? T____T
2. What's with the letter 'H' at your teeth? Kids really see beyond things!
3. Kenak ada manit2 kat gigi kitak? (Why do you have beads at your teeth) Perhaps she sees it as accessories?
4. Can I touch that? Of course you cant!
5. What's that foreign thing inside your mouth. It's called braces.
6. You like to eat sweets when you are small? I like to eat sweets too, means my teeth become like yours when I grow up? Yup, you should be very2 scared.
7. Kitak makey ubat gigi pedas ka gigi kitak jadi camya? (Do you use the minty toothpaste that your teeth become like that? This one, I cannot relate it at all!

My day started off not so good, it was when my cat accidentally purposely slept on my warm, crispy and freshly ironed working shirt. Pfft, I have to choose another outfit and repeat the ironing. Mom urged me to get ready early because she wanted to deposit some cash. 

I looked at my cell, it's 4th. My favourite number. And it's 4th of January, my FSIL's birthday. Happy Birthday akak, semoga semua impian menjadi kenyataan and may you continue walking hand in hand with luck! No one is as lucky as you, at the tender age of yours, you have everything women want, a happy family.

And today, happy engagement anniversary point five to my other half, Abu Ubaidah. Thanks a lot for still partaking in this journey with me, just to let you know, there's no a single day passes without I'm thanking Him for you in my life. And that's five times a day. And for the glitches, I think we are now at the point where we just can blow them off our shoulders. I love you.

Purple Lady is here, for her sister engagement! (review about that later). And of course, us the Powerpuff Girl set a date for a reunion that we thought impossible as one of us is married and very far away. Anda mahu kurus? Seramping Miss Universe? atau mempunyai kulit semulus model SKII? Semuanya bermula dengan makanan, yup your daily consumption of food. And what is the top notch way? Atkins Diet? South Beach Diet? Low Carbs? Only Protein? Dr. Oz?? Liquid Diet?! No to all. Sebaik2 nya ialah makan mengikut sunnah Rasulullah S.A.W!~

Berikut adalah amalan makan baginda yang paling wajar dicontohi and the most sensible without most of us realizing it.

1. Hanya makan yang Halal (sesuai dengan syariat) dan Thoyyib (cemerlang dari segi khasiat) *from only this 1st tip, you can overcome any diet issue already.
2. Berhenti makan sebelum kenyang
3. Jangan tergoda untuk makan lagi sesudah kenyang.
4. Jangan makan melebihi sepertiga perut kerana 2/3 lagi adalah untuk air dan udara (nafas)
5. Setelah Subuh, amalkan minum air suam + madu
6. Jangan memenuhi mulut dengan banyak makanan sekaligus
7. Amalkan makan beramai-ramai
8. Bersihkan jari-jari dengan mulut seusai makan
9. Ketika masuk waktu dhuha, dianjurkan makan 7 butir tamar
10. Amalkan minyak zaitun di waktu petang
11. Pada malam hari, makanan utama baginda hanyalah sayur-sayuran
12. Jangan makan lebih dari satu jenis makanan panas atau dingin secara bersama
13. Tidak makan ikan dan daging pada masa yang sama
14. Tidak terus tidur selepas makan
15. Kurangkan makan daging

Demikian antara amalan makan Rasulullah, you don't have to stretch extra mile to look for the best way to consume. Kalau dilihat, tidak complicated at all, semuanya about moderation. His is always the best way.

Feliz Navidad!

2010 has been tough for me the first half year when I was having a hard time securing a job. I was the closest to depression as a result of self pity and there were times I just weeped for no reason, All I have is me to get myself composed. I did what I do the best. Ignore. There's always light at the end of every tunnel, I got a job in May! And my working life has been so so so great, although a little bit of struggling was necessary at the beginning. Hands down to my shenanigans colleagues, I have the aswesomestest colleagues in the whole world I tell you. 7 months go by so placid without I am realizing it. Next year will be my third semester and I'm all prepared for whatever stints. I guess that is all highlight for my 2010 as the 1st four months had been horrendous but nevertheless, I am very glad that I am able to rise in one piece. :)  2011, I hope you offer me with lots and loads of fortuitous chances. I am all in!

Of Staff Dinner 2010 Lagu Tema: I gotta feeling by B.E.P

Amidst our uber busy schedule, it does not restrain us to still continue with our planned Staff Dinner 2010. At least something for us loosen our brains taut. The theme of the night which is White and Blue Jeans goes so well with the venue, by the poolside. Tentative of the night were games, performance, lucky draw, also election for the new staff club committee. As much as I want to go to every detail, I don't think that I have enough hands to capture every single thing that night :( because I was so busy preparing for our performance. (Every department was required to perform) The menu was Barbecue Style but presented in buffet spread, means no grilling was involved, all  prepared  by the hotel. 

For the attire, honestly I was thinking to myself, how further can u be with this theme right? So I plan to wear whatever I have. Plus, it is an outdoor event, not a fine, red carpet dinner. But towards the day, my colleague started raising the alarming question for women: What you wear ah, joms, come with me to find baju.

"-____- Only then I realized; I don't have a decent white top!Luckily I manage to find mine at the very last minute, a tad hours before the dinner :) I work best under pressure! Another +ve angle for how I love to procrastinate! :P

I won Lucky Draw that night! That was my 4th lucky draw in my entire life. hehe, And our department (academic dept) secured 2nd place for performance. Five bad news came to me within these 3 days in one blow. I wish I can still keep myself composed and head held high. Come to think of it, none of these is the worst case scenario, I have faced much2 more abominable yet I survived. Apa2 pun hadapi dengan senyuman :) Regardless  the tender age of mine, U have no idea what I have faced since I was a kid. That's why Mom says I am special.

No sun for me, really expecting for the rainbow.  At least I can still pull off a smile :)

Malaysian and Badminton are sooo associated Lagu Tema: When its Over by Sugar Ray

It is currently the exam week, for us lecturers, it is the busiest period on the calendar. Hundreds of answer scripts, horrendous invigilating, management matter and ad-hoc issue really put our endurance on test. We really need to distress. Retail therapy you say? ehem, its the middle of the month, mind you, plus, would you have the mood to shop when you know millions of task are still pending?

We need the cheapest and easiest but nevertheless fun way to distress. window shopping Game! We went for badminton at Arena Sukan, RM10 per hour, cheaper chipped in.

Ok I lied, we did go for window shopping after game to distress, girls will always be girls.

Kuchingites would notice this giant Christmas tree at The Spring where they paste up all the wishes. The wishes are written on a star-shaped golden cardboard, and there are thousands of them. This particular star somehow caught my attention

Hari ini 9 Muharram Lagu Tema: Alhamdulillah by Too Phat feat. Yassin

Esok,10 Muharram, merupakan Hari Asyura di mana banyak peristiwa penting dalam Islam berlaku pada hari ini. Antaranya, Noh A.S diselamatkan dari banjir besar, Musa A.S diselamatkan dari cengkaman Firaun, Nabi Yusuf dilepaskan dari penjara, Nabi Ibrahim A.S lepas dari Namrud dan banyak lagi.

Pada hari ini (10 Muharram) umat Islam dianjurkan untuk berpuasa sunat. Namun begitu, umat Islam diperintahkan berpuasa pada 9 Muharram untuk mengelak menyamai amalan Yahudi yang juga berpuasa pada 10 Muharram. 

Rasulullah bersabda: "Jika aku menjumpai Hari Asyura pada tahun akan datang, nescaya aku juga berpuasa pada hari kesembilannya"-HR Muslim.

Antara fadhilat puasa sunat Asyura ialah, ketika ditanya kepada Rasulullah, baginda menjawab :"Puasa tersebut meghapus dosa yang satu tahun lalu"- HR Muslim. 

Sama-sama lah kita berpuasa sunat ^_^ dan buat bubur Asyura, yummehh...
