Aidilfitri 2013 Pt. 2

I can't believe I am back to the office already. It takes time for me to adjust after enjoying a blast of Aidilfitri although only  for the compulsory 4 days of holiday. How is this Raya different from my previous or maybe future ones? First I splurged on my Raya outfits. Because at the first year of marriage, I had none, the second, I had only two pairs. And for this year, I decided to spoil myself in this department. Plus, the ready-made ones are too pretty to resist. I made only one pair and the other 28 rest, I bought them, mostly online. The size fits and none of them is a wrong purchase. 

Second, Ayra walked. I mentioned happily in my previous entry , little that I know it would become a handful for me to handle! Especially when I am alone preparing the dish, house, everything, for my husband, not enough for having to work on Raya eve and Raya morning, he had to resume duty on the 3rd day of Raya.

Nevertheless, we braved ourselves to host a mini open house mainly for family and close friends not once but twice. With Ayra touring around the house with things in her hands, B was not present, it could pass completing a 15km marathon. But on the other hand, I managed. Pat on the back. I made Laksa Sarawak on the 2nd day, and yesterday, I made two cakes, plus some savoury dishes, including ayam percik, butter prawns, nasi minyak, ayam lemon.. My heart  skipped two beats when I was cooking at the kitchen, Ayra suddenly showed up while holding my vase up high!!! 

After, that, business resumes as usual. Oh ya not to mention we visited my bro in law's new homestay , kira gracing his homestay laa for this Raya. Aidilfitri 2013

The office could pass an abandoned building. Everyone is heading way back to their respective home. I am still here, looking after the office, finally had the time to hit the keyboard for blogging! I apologize to all of my blog readers, for being a lousy blogger for this year.I will stick to the lame excuse, busy. I remember the good old days when I update my blog twice everyday & get slurs of how am I so free and takde keje. Now, I get comments of how dusty my blog is. But whatever it is, my blog will always be my soulmate. And I think I cheat my blog to a new guy in town, instagram! Feel free to follow me @aidathepinkgoddess.

Oh well, where do I start...ok my last entry was about my Anniversary. The we embraced the coming of Ramadhan.. for this Raya, I am not coming back to my hometown, when Dad sent me the pic of our house back in Kuching after a make over for so many years, it hits me that I am not coming back, way back home, my role will be the one who iron the whole pack's baju raya , and on the eve I will watch over the ketupats and early morning, Mom will monitor us cutting the cakes according to her specs. It's dua jari, (two fingers) I remember. Hehe.

And the highlight of this Raya is.... Ayra has finally taken her first steps!! It concerns me as mother that she acquires this skill later than her friends of the same batch (of course I hide the worries)! Rupanya nak berjalan especially for Raya, to rock that baju kurung, because B always tell me, all this fancy outfits nice to be worn if only Ayra can walk. hehehe

For our preparation, this year, besides celebrating at my MIL's crib, we will attempt to celebrate at our own house. Done with the chinas, and utensils, cookies. Looks like I have to only bake cakes and cook the savoury (main dish). But we'll see the feasibility, still subject to time. he

Anniversary of 2!

Come 9th July 2013, we are two! If an infant they would call it terrible two but it's an awesome two for the case of my marriage! To the love of my life and after life, sorry should you discover my flaws along the way, after all you are there to make them better!Lets fight and have another forever together!

He is usually NOT like this, but this year, he decided to surprise me with a bouquet at my office , one day earlier, he said if he did it on the day, I'd be expecting it haha!!

We went for a (lousy) dinner at Novotel and checked in.

The next day (the real date), we decide to compensate the lousy dinner with a hearty one at Hyatt, Seriously hyatt has the best food ever!!!

Celebrations

May, June and July are the months when I become officially broke! Starting with Ayra's birthday, mother's day in May, B's , nepehew's Birthday , Father's day in June and Anniversary in July. But nothing can top the fun and togetherness and love we have from all the celebrations. It's ok the purse runs dry as long as Love fills up the moment. Pfft. haha

Since we are staying on our own there'll be at least 2 different celebration for each. Imagine.that. So, for B's birthday this month, actually I planned it earlier but something came up in the middle of the preparation so it screwed up everything altogether! 

I decided to splurge on the gift itself for this year, and mellow down on the celebration. Nevertheless, there must be a theme, since Man of Steel premiers on his birthday, so Superman it is.

I never thought looking for an S logo tshirt is this difficult along with the showing of the Man of Steel. Every shop we went was running out of the S logo tshirt. I am lucky to be able to find one and luckier we could find one for Ayra!

And the for the cake, for Secret Recipe, the order must be placed at least 4 days prior to the day. But I got lucky the accept it 2 days before! ahahaa

And on the 13th of June, apart from B's birthday, it was also the premiere of Man of Steel! Gila kau premier tak tengok! So we dared ourselves to watch the midnight show. B reached home at 8 and there is still ample time to rest and we went off at 1030. I surrendered at last infact all us three slept through out the movie. SO it is not fair for me to give out review, because technically I didn't watch that movie! hahaha It's ok, we'll try to patch it up later. 

Whatever it is, Mons U is a must watch movie!

Working cum vacation. I couldn't love my job more!

Update

First of all, much2 apology because my blog is almost dead. The lacking of updates doesn't mean am quitting, I still love my blog more than ever.

Anyways what you are about to read, in this (or other upcoming entries) will be so trivial and so empty that you can dismiss. I deal with heavy stuff at the office and this is the only channel that I could vent everything. Isn't that the conventional purpose of a blog? hehe

Yesterday, I bought my sister's review of how good the movie Now You See Me, severely. Hubby was working, so I couldn't wait any longer, I brought Ayra to movie for the first attempt! You are free to judge. hehe, I can't continue to send her to her grandma everytime and I can't continue to miss all the premieres! She was well-behaved except a little bit destructive at the beginning. After an hour, she fell asleep until the movie ended. So, more movies to come! hehe On the other note, Now You See Me is worth all the hassles! hehe

OK, this is random. See, I rarely wear pants/jeans, very2 rare because I only got two pairs and compared to thousand of skirts. The (obvious) reason is I have thunderous legs. I don't like and proud to accentuate them. And no pair has ever fit me perfectly until recently I found THE ONE and I bought a few. My problem is always on the waist department because I always buy 1-2 size larger to accomodate my hips don't lie so it will be so loose at the waist. I don't like the idea of wearing belt because it will result a bulging effect at our top. What I do is I bought a special jeans button and add one more so I can adjust to my size. My rule is never to wear pants with a top shorter than my knee because I have a lot to hide. hehe, So, when the crowd buzzing about colored pants, sorry I can't fill in :(

Change is inevitable

I've just gone through a life changing moment. I pray I can cope with it well, if not just nice. Career wise, i'm no longer in the comfort zone. When I joined this service, I foresee this moment will come when work is no more bed of roses or walk in the park. I wish with the change of this portfolio, it is for the better. 

Pity Ayra, mommy and daddy are busier day by day, sometimes, we neglect you, sometimes, we miss out some of your development but we never stop loving and putting high hope that you will grow up to be a smart, beautiful and humble muslimah. Insya Allah...

Ayra Maysaa's 1st Birthday Celebration

Pat on my back for the beginning. Alhamdulillah we had successfully hosted the first event ever as a family. Ayra Maysaa's first birthday is a wrap! I didn't expect it's finally excuted, well-done. Look, we did not plan to celebrate Ayra's birthday on the day because B can't promise me that he could take leave on May 12th, Sunday. Yes, my husband has to apply leave for his daughter's birthday on SUNDAY. (think twice before you marry someone in medical field). So, I can't confirm anything, waiting cue from him.  Right after getting back from Kuching on Monday, after voting, then B confirmed that his leave was approved. So, I have approximately only 4 days to prepare everything.

Prior to planning the party, I did some browsing on birthday theme and look for vendor. I chose Strawberry Shortcake because its pink (duhhh) and it's fresh and sweet, suitable for a one year old girl, plus it's easy to look for. I was quite shocked by the vendor's charge for the theme party, so I round up my mind to go prudent, DIY the banner, goody bags and decorations. The banner although made with my minimum photoshop knowledge, it turns out so good with a very very lower budget compared to the vendors.For goody bags, did some design and got them printed on stickers papers. And I have spent a good time in thrift store like Daiso and Kaison, seriously if you are organising a budget parties, shop at these 2 places!!!

Thank you to all my and my in-law family members who helped me so much and friends who made it to my daughter's first birthday party. I will show at her every birthday party how well her 1st one was. So, see you guys again next year, I promise, no more pink theme! hihihi...
