A tale of a boy

I chose to jog at the park today. I need some fresh air and sunlight and the smell of chlorophyll. I kicked off late as the sunlight is still piercing at 530pm.

At the finishing line, suddenly a huge bulky man overtook me. We headed to the right at the pavement for some cooling down exercise. I just can tell, that man is Chin Jing Shen, my primary school classmate, he hadn't changed much, exactly 15 years ago only in larger scale and a beer belly.

During the school years, Jing Shen was the meanest, baddest haha, jahat gila2, biggest bully at school. He was a hyperactive boy and beyond rascal. At primary 3, he towered among us and almost as tall as the teachers. He always wear his uniform with the collar erected and would throw tantrum anywhere he pleased. His size made him easy to make anything his conquest. Even teachers gave up on him, they would give in and allowed him to do anything he liked, sat at the corner of the class or just simply ignored him. And he did not perform as well, he finished last in the class. There was one time I wrote his name on the blackboard sebab buat bising (kan dulu mcm tu, siapa senyap, padam hiihi) he went bonkers and threw chairs across the class!! Everyone was shaken by his presence even NOW I still have the heart-thump upon seeing him. hahahha Trauma2!

He seemed not to recognize me, then a bunch of his friends called his names and they chat nearby. I eavesdropped. JING SHEN IS NOW A PILOT.

When I drove home, I was overtaken again, that's Jing Shen in his red sports car. Hmm...

P/S: A destructive child usually grows up into a smart and intelligent adult. I have seen many living proofs.

Old time..

Ke hadapan Ika,

Hari ni ku makan di Old Town sorang2, sayu hati ku, aku tak ingat when is our 1st encounter with Old Town ni tapi yang aku ingat kita pengunjung setia Old Town. Memang tempat kita berkhemah sebab pencahayaan baik untuk bergambar murah kan Ika and makanannya tak heavy sangat. Aku rasa kita dah cuba semua menu dalam Old Town tu.

Ko ingat time final, sini la tempat kita berkampung study last minute sebab ada wifi free dan cepat. Oscar pun join sama. Kalau ko order ko takkan mau kongsi tu, aku suka kongsi sebab dapat jimat, dapat diet sharing is caring. Menu TM aku is Polo Bun takde mentega, kosong jak dan Soft boiled eggs and toast asing2, kau pulak nasik lemak, adakala kita dpt ayam extra. And kita semua suka Milk Tea dia. Ko ingat ka hari tu kita order sampai 3 kali. 2nd time tu rasa dia tak sama dah, kita suruh orang yang buat tu rasa sendiri. Antara Xi Nut or Milk Tea biasa. Hehehe

Sebab terlalu selalu pegi sana, kita berkawan baik dengan pekerja2 nya, ko ingat time shades aku lupa di sana? Diorang tolong simpan dan esoknya bagi kat aku. Pastu Abu balik, aku rekemen Old Town kat dia, dia pun suka, hari2 nak Old Town jugak. Macam kita jugak, kalau nak makan luar punya susah nak decide, last2 Old Town jugak.

Tapi yang pasti, di sini sangat berbeza walaupun semua nya sama, bezanya ketiadaan kamu orang..

Remember Me

I just couldn't believe it when Mak told me in an excited tone,

"Ju nangga Remember Me, nak orang muda Twilight ya berlakon, maok mak nangga"
(Lets go and watch Remember Me, it features the Twilight hero, I really wanna watch it)

This movie is about a rebellious young man, Tyler (Pattison) whose life changed after he lost his brother to suicide. He took it out on his wealthy father who is a workaholic and couldn't be bothered with his wrecking family. By the twist of fate, he met a girl who witnessed the murder of her mother when she was a kid. See how they shared their mutual experience, and how it ended in an unpredictable means. It is set during the September 11 event.

For me the movie falls into 'not bad' category. With his signature 'sick' style of acting, Rob Pattison did it quite well, albeit the dragging storyline. But don't expect for a sparkling Edward cuz he looks rather sloppy this time. I think he could be the next Johnny Depp, you know, working his charm sans the metrosexual manner.

P/S: Caught Pattison in his signature Way Ferrer in this movie! I want a pair!

A visit to the dentist

This is my 2nd appointment following my braces application. And I got a shocking news. My dentist discovered an excess tissue on my gum, grew from the hollow socket of my previous  extracted tooth. He then referred me to the other doctor who also failed to identify what is it. He even asked me whether I am pregnant (*_*) Kan org pregnant selalu ada gum complication. So, he performed a laser surgery on my gum to burn remove the excess mass. I think I got 6-7 jabs! Oh my, it was a horrible experience plus the burning smell, although I'm completely numb at that area. I was soo relieved when he said he did it for FREE!! FREE!! FREE!! sekali lagi FREE!! And I was told, if it reoccurs, they will have to perform a biopsy. Aduh... I pray hard it's nothing serious.

And the end of the day, I also had my braces tighten. Pun sedappppp jgk! This braces thing is definitely not a walk in the cloud.period.

Father and son in crocs.cute.

I am admitted twice today to 2 different dentist, altogether cost me 2.5 hours.

It's orange this time! tk nampak pun.. tapi memang orange.

Alice in the Wonderland

Collaboration between Johnny Depp and Tim Burton isn't new. Both of them had formulated  chemistry in numerous projects, to name some : The famous Edward Scissorhand, Sleepy Hollow, Sweeny Todd, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory etc. So far, they have done 7 movies together including the latest Alice in The Wonderland. I would recommend this for two group of people- Depp's fans and those who crave for fantasy movie. Personally, this movie couldn't amaze me but Depp is the wow factor. No doubt. But, I second my sister for its witty lines, you can expect for alliteration here and there. Best! And, not to watch this in 3D is a WASTE. It is meant to be watched in 3D. Of course, Helena Bonham Carter (Burton's wife) completes the trio. Selamat menonton!!

next in line is imaginarium of dr. parnassus!!

Hail King David

 King David

 Carlo

Just so all of you know, The Biggest Loser Asia has finally ended and the crowned is none other than King David, from Indonesia. His victory has created stir especially amongst fans of the majority choice- Carlo. Following conferred TBL, David received more condemns rather than acknowledgment pertaining his triumph. This is all because of his much difference in term of appearance which people claimed to look emaciated, haggard and sick. Losing a whooping 81kgs or 54% of his initial weight, you tell me. Kalau x berbeza tak tau la, the thing is, you have seen him in his heavier body that's why he looks a lot more different now, if not, he'll look like a normal person jer.

But definitely, I am not one of those who gone bonkers over David's coronation. Obviously those people are ones who NEVER been in David's shoes. Therefore I would like to give my 2 cents technically and emotionally.

If you are striving to lose weight, and you can really see the progress, there will be one stage you will become obsessed of working out and petrified of eating. You will not realise that you have overdone it. What more to say these contestants. To reach this level, I am damn sure they are willing to die to lose weight. They joined this competition with huge will power, dreams and of course to prove something to some people. Each of them had enough of ordeal and turmoil that they have their own stories and reasons why they want to get rid of their unwanted excess baggage! Some would say, all matters to David is the money, but for me, the USD100k is NOTHING compared to his endeavor, together with the pain and agony which we never knew! Now he has accomplished the biggest achievement of his life after he felt all the torture and torment literally! Ingat senang ke nak hilang half of your body?

So, clear off your hatred, look at the bright side, congratulations to David, you deserve it because you literally work hard.

P/S: What motivates David to join TBLA? this is his answer: "I want to honour God with my body, to look compatible to my fiancée, have good health and a long life, and make my family proud.”

Need me to say more? I think I am done.

Hematoma jer...

Mom arranged me an appointment with the doc today. My toes suddenly turned blue-black underneath the nail, and I will experience very tight sensation along my calves every night.  I thought the pain has something to do with the toe. Earlier, Mak has asked  around  & the doctor suspected me to have gas gangrene or what not. So, he ordered for an appointment. Doctors are just smart, smart as in *miracle*. All this while, I hid the fact that it all started after I wore tight shoes, instead, I will tell Mom maybe it has something to do with vigorous exercise at the gym. But with doctors, you cannot lie! The moment he saw my toes, straight away he said "Ni mesti tight shoes ni kan?" *Goosebump sekejap* And luckily, nothing serious, just a minor haematoma. The calves pain is caused by muscle sprain,  exertion of movement, nothing to do with the blue-black toe. And that is what b told me, muscle pain. Therefore, I need muscle relaxant. Again, baby is right!

P/S: A subungual hematoma is a collection of blood (hematoma) underneath a toenail or fingernail. It can be extremely painful for an injury of its size although otherwise it is not a serious medical condition. A subungual hematoma that results from the repetitive thrusting of the longest toe into a shoe's toe box is called jogger's toe *wiki-ed*

Oh ya, I have just discovered how to do this cone-head style. heahaha.tak rambut panjang pun takpe, asalkan dpt ikat.

Prawn Olio Aida the PinkGoddess

I bet most of you have tried Prawn Olio di Pizza Hut and would fall for it. I have a strong inclination towards colorless but tasty food, I dun fancy yang merah2, kuning2... So, today I attempted making my very own."Prawn Olio Suka Duka Aida the Pinkgoddess" haahaha. Dijamin sangat2 sedap!! I wonder if I can make similar like this again next time cuz yang ni main agak2 jer.

The Ingredients:

Spaghetti (for my case, I use Angelhair spaghetti, u know, Goddess, Angels.. they are
4-5 prawns
1 clove of garlic (chopped)
Half clove of onion (chopped)
Dried chillies (you can either cut the chillies of leave them in chunks)
Maggi seasoning
Salt
Pepper

Method:

Boil the spaghetti. In another pan, saute the garlic, onion and dried chillies in the heated oil. DO NOT let them turn brown, cuz you want to enjoy the juicy texture of them in your spaghetti later. Add in the prawns and stir about until they turn PINK. Stir constantly, add some salt, dash of seasoning and sprinkle a lil bit of pepper. At this stage, the taste is almost perfect but I cheated with some flavor granules. Put off the fire, then mix the spaghetti thoroughly. (This is the tricky part, remember you are not making fried noodle, dun fry the spaghetti together, you mix it).  You are done before you knew it. :)

Mom said dishes are best served on white plates. Cuba tengok rancangan masakan, and fine dining, mesti diorg pakai pinggan putih..

My name is Khan

Mak has been nagging me about this movie bila nak main kat Kuching.. And a friend informed her it is shown at Riverside. Mestila The Gilmore Girls pergi tengok.

All thumbs up!! It is about Rizvan Khan (SRK), a Muslim who suffered from Asperger's Syndrome and married a Hindu, Mandira (Kajol). Mandira has a son from her previous marriage. All things go well until the strike of 9/11- Mandira's son is killed amidst the heated Muslims-terrorists buzz. Mandira couldn't accept this and blamed Khan for her son's death. She chased him out and forced him to prove to her that Muslims are not terrorist. Khan who really loves Mandira determined to meet the U.S president to tell him this "My name is Khan, and I am not a terrorist". He stalked the president's every itinerary and a lot of things happened while he made his way to the US president.

Ok, apa kesudahan nya? Tak mau cerita lebih2.. Go and watch yourself, trust me, it is worth your every penny! But don't expect for Rangeela, dance and song. This story relies strongly on SRK. He is an awesome actor! Kajol pretty sentiasa! Prepare to weep and laugh at the same time! Karan Johar, you rock!

P/S: Hero hindustan memang ageless ok!! Paired with heroines half their age makes no difference at all! salute gila!

Happy birthday to Babah

Cuzzie dad & me- January 1986

Happy 55th birthday to the man I look up the most! My beloved daddy! We resented it soo much we don't get to celebrate your birthday in one whole bunch. ;(  We know things get hard after you transferred to KK but I strongly believe Allah has pre-determined something better for the whole family.

I wish I have those traits of yours Daddy! After all, I have always been a daddy's girl because Mom loves biena & abu more. I pray health, wealth and happiness for you so you can continue to take care of us, We love u daddy!

Happy 50th birthday also to Uncle Sainuri, may happiness and prosperity cross at your path! tak lama lagi jadi grandpa!

Dalil Cinta

After watching the promo, memang brazam la nak tengok, so me and my beloved housemate (my mom la tu) bertenggek depan TV sharp at 9.

This drama is about a young couple yang gatal nak kahwin and believe that marriage can survive on LOVE per se. After both parents agreed, both of them pun get married. Nisa (Sh Amani) is still young and her study is still in progress while her husband, Zarif (Fahrin Ahmad) is a mechanic. All this while, they take every chances to cover up that Nisa knows nothing about cooking and house chores. Before they get married, Nisa even duped her Mom-In-Law by asking a cook to cook Asam Pedas and Sayur sawi which is later found out by her MIL (after she got married).

So, her MIL decided to take revenge on her by pretending to be sick and demanded Nisa to cook her asam pedas. So Nisa pun kantoi right at that moment. Lepas kena kaw2 by her MIL, Nisa accused her husband conspired with her MIL nak kenakan dia. Dia tak berubah pun, still sticking to her old habit, bangun lewat, hidang nasik bungkus and had her husband do all the house chores.

Until one day, her MIL decided to stay over at their house. Barulah kelam kabut Nisa nak kemas her house. For all she knows, yang Nisa dah berubah, tapi rupa-rupanya tak when satu pagi, Fahrin was caught red handed melipat baju2 yang disorok unfolded dalam guest room tempat MIL nya tidur. Mak mana yang tak tersirap tengok anak lelaki dia diperlaku kan oleh isterinya begitu kan, so MIL pun ambushed bilik Nisa and bangunkan dia. Nisa sangat marah and yelled back kat Mak Mentua dia. Her MIL was stunned and terus pergi.

This is the turning point for Fahrin to advise Nisa, instead Nisa cabar Fahrin, to see how long can he stand living without her. Fast forward, Fahrin conspired with his young Mak Su and barula Nisa terhegeh2 nak berubah...

Rupa-rupanya Nisa jadi begitu because she never had chance to do house chores sebab her Mom didn't trust her with those. So, Nisa's dad ordered her to learn from the best : her Mak Mentua...

So they live happily ever after! =)

Moral of the story is:

Suami kena tegas! Sayang is sayang! Didik is didik! Jangan sampai isteri naik kepala..
One fact about women, seberjaya mana pun anda, waima anda angkasawan or President US pun, kalau tak pandai buat kerja rumah, no one will look up at you!

P/S: I am determined to learn to cook the best chicken mushroom sauce in the world :)
P/S/S:During and after the movie, saya pun kena lecture free dari bonda tersayang :)

Tamrin Kepimpinan Remaja Islam and what not

When I was in secondary school, (SMKA Tun Ahmad Zaidi aka TUNAZ) there was this program called TAKRIS, abbr. for Tamrin Kepimpinan Remaja Islam. Not everybody can join this tamrin but anyone selected to part take in this program would feel it was an achievement for them. And I was chosen during Form 2. Two years later, it was our turn to organize the program and I remember I was promoted to a facilitator because one of our faci couldn't make it. Initially I was in the welfare committee.

The highlight of the program was of course the Perang Takris (The Takris Battle). It took place after midnight on the Dataran Kejat (our beloved school is shaped in octagon and the pad is in the middle). Your target is to conquer your opponent's flag and bring it to your place. You can also abduct as many as your enemies and make them you hostages. When it is battle, of course you expect weapons. We created our own weapons using plastic bags filled with water. You know you were unlucky if you get thrown with bags with waste water or soil. Euww.. Although it was a mock, the adrenaline rush still took effect. Everyone was in the mood to "kill" their enemies and bring home the Flag. So kalau ada yang betul2 gaduh tu, normal la.. he

This program stretched for 3 days. On the registration day, the participant will be given one item that we call "Amanah". For our case, it was a cracker. The square Hup Seng cracker. By hook or by crook, you have to carry this anywhere you go and make sure it is in a very good condition. Nama pun amanah kan. If you get caught leaving it unattended, you'll know what you'll get. Every now and then, there were abg2 and kakak2 trying to entice you to replace your "Amanah" with a brand new one. Some of them fell for that! Paling lawak, they changed it on their own. Mana tak obvious, dibagi jenis Hup Seng, but they have it yang Jacob!!

Other programs were of course ceramah, qiamullail, presentation, nasyid, games, and muhasabah diri. Up until now, I think no one could beat Kak Shamsiah Mahli for self reflection. Memang bengkak2 mata nangis. And she was one of the pioneers of this program.

Perhaps Purple Lady still have the pics of this program.

P/S: TAKRIS surely offered a lot of dramas compared to AF! ehehe

Of Intruder, Mugshot and Cats! :)

I heard the grill shook. Out of curiosity I quickly ran to the living room, petrified upon seeing the cushions all over the floor.. I was panicked but in sanity to deduce--nothing bad would happen as the lock is still safely fastened at the grill. I gasped in relief when I came across this...

Actually we are both stunned.ahaha. Look at her fur.
